INSTALLATION IN THE PUBLIC SPACE - 48 HOURS NON STOP

In this occasion, i Collective develops a work in relationship with the principal characteristic of Neukölln: the coexistence of different social and ethnic groups. As an inverted Babel Tower, STORY BOX aims to join instead of disperse. Inside the cabin placed in front of the Rathaus Neukölln and during 48 hours non stop, the viewers have been able to listen to stories of different countries in different languages.

Conceived as a living monument, this project seeks to create a common identity from the difference. Each reader performs his/her own cultural background within Neukölln´s everyday life, activating associations, memories and images in the visitor only through the spoken word.

On Sunday 27th i Collective also had a special program for children. We encouraged children to participate by reading themselves stories for the adults.

THE RESULT: over 40 performers reading in 18 different languages during 48 hours non stop!
